Eli Lilly Launches SGD$42 Million Digital Health Innovation Hub in Singapore to Transform AI-Driven Healthcare Solutions

Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly), through its subsidiary Lilly Digital Health and the Lilly Centre for Clinical Pharmacology (LCCP), has announced a significant SGD 42 million investment to establish a Digital Health Innovation Hub in Singapore. This new hub will accelerate research and development in AI-driven digital health technologies.

This ambitious five-year initiative is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and was celebrated with a launch event at the Lilly Centre for Clinical Pharmacology (LCCP), a world-class clinical research unit in Biopolis, which will house the Digital Health Innovation Hub.

Rich Carter, Lilly’s Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer, stated, It’s our duty to serve our communities by discover and develop new medicines. We are motivated to create better solutions that improve patient experiences, helping them lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. We believe that expanding our digital health innovation capabilities will speed up Lilly’s global drug development programs, which address some of the world’s most complex health challenges.”

The Digital Health Innovation Hub will advance digital health technologies that provide unique insights into patient health beyond traditional clinical settings. Lilly’s digital health solutions play a vital role in advancing global clinical research across key therapeutic areas, including cardiometabolic health, neurodegenerative diseases, pain management, oncology, and immunology.

Jian Yang, Vice President and Digital Health Medical Officer, highlighted, “Sleep quality is a critical area for us, as poor sleep significantly impacts daytime functioning and is often an indicator of various medical conditions.” To address this, the Digital Health Innovation Hub will launch an advanced Digital Circadian Rhythm Center of Excellence, dedicated to testing digital health technologies that can assess sleep quality objectively and with less strain on patients compared to traditional, costly polysomnography methods. Two additional Centers of Excellence are also planned: the Lilly Gait Center and the Lilly Computer Vision Center.

The Digital Health Innovation Hub will leverage Lilly’s advanced Magnol.AI™ platform, which enables secure, high-frequency data collection, visualization, and processing from wearable sensors. Aligned with physician- and patient-reported outcomes, Magnol.AI™ provides real-time data insights, essential for developing digital health technologies. It empowers clinical scientists to conduct high-quality digital health research with AI-driven precision and efficiency.

Lilly is thrilled to broaden the Digital Health Innovation Hub’s capabilities through collaborations with Singapore’s academic, healthcare, and research institutions. These partnerships, coordinated by the Biomedical Sciences Industry Partnership Office (BMSIPO)—a national initiative managed by the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR)—will harness Singapore’s well-integrated healthcare ecosystem to advance digital health innovations. This effort underscores the shared commitment of both Lilly and Singapore to enhance patient care and push the boundaries of medical research.

Goh Wan Yee, Senior Vice President and Head of Healthcare at Singapore EDB, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “We’re thrilled that Eli Lilly has chosen Singapore for its Digital Health Innovation Hub. This move will enhance our ability to leverage AI-powered digital health technologies to speed up clinical development worldwide.” She added, “This investment aligns perfectly with Singapore’s vision to promote AI innovation within the biomedical sciences, in line with our National AI Strategy 2.0, where AI is a force for positive impact.”
